Product description:
Red yeast rice (RYR) is a traditional Chinese medicinal agent prepared by using Monascus purpureus fermented with rice. The extracts from RYR contain starch, sterols, isoflavones, and monounsaturated fatty acids, and other compounds; depending on Monascus strains used and fermentation conditions, it may contain polyketides called monacolins. Monacolin K is called natural lovastatin, which is a commonly prescribed lipid-lowering medicine. Red yeast rice is now widely applied in healthcare industries, herbal medicine and nutrient food.
